  • Academic effort and commitment

  • Leadership and strong character

  • Community involvement or service

  • Financial need

Scholarship criteria, award amounts, and eligibility requirements may vary by year and are administered through the Community Foundation of Morgan County.

The Mooresville Kiwanis Curry Overton Memorial Scholarship is open to students pursuing skilled trades or undergraduate degree programs at an accredited institution.

Students who are homeschooled and reside within the Mooresville or Monrovia school districts are fully eligible and encouraged to apply.

Preference is given to applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Residency / School Area: Students who reside in or attend school (including homeschool programs) within the Mooresville or Monrovia school districts.

  • Student Recognition & Service: Students who have been selected as a Kiwanis Student of the Month or who have participated in Kiwanis-sponsored service projects or community service activities.

  • Character: Applicants who exemplify the Golden Rule, demonstrating respect, kindness, and integrity through school, work, and community involvement.

  • Academic Achievement: Applicants must have earned a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher.

All Kiwanis Club of Mooresville scholarships are:

  • Managed and awarded through the Community Foundation of Morgan County

  • Included in the Foundation’s annual scholarship application cycle

  • Reviewed according to established eligibility and selection guidelines by the Kiwanis Club of Mooresville's Scholarship Committee

Applicants must apply directly through the Community Foundation of Morgan County, not through the Kiwanis Club.

To apply for a Kiwanis scholarship:

  1. Visit the Community Foundation of Morgan County website

  2. Review current scholarship opportunities and eligibility requirements

  3. Complete the online scholarship application during the open application period
